Today we welcomed members of the Eden Classic Car Group to our Campus to display our various facilities and projects...it was fantastic to have you guys here and to see the wonderful classics close-up in real life.

The EBET Faculty and the Advanced Engineering Design Group (AEDG) hosted the Eden Classic Car Group (ECCG) to the campus on Friday 21st April, which saw 14 classic cars displayed at the Newtonian Building parking for students and staff, as well as exposure of the EBET Engineering facilities to the ECCG members.

The ECCG members were guided through the various Engineering Labs and workspaces where they were able to meet both staff and students involved in the many facilities, and they were able to interact with many of the students directly involved with the Faculty projects.

The feedback from the ECCG members, themselves representing decades of engineering and associated expertise and knowledge, was excellent and the whole visit proved very worthwhile, enabling a unique multi-generational interaction and dialogue that is not normally accessible to our students.

This visit by the ECCG was the culmination of their tour of automotive related entities in the Eastern Cape over three days which saw the group visit Mercedes, VWSA and a variety of locally-based automotive supply sector companies.

The visit was a result of a long-established relationship going back to the AEDG’s participation in the Knysna Motor Show, the organisers of which feature prominently amongst the ECCG members. Our thanks go out to our guests for their positive and passionate participation to make the day a great success.

We have posted the various photos from the visit on our Facebook page at the following link:
